Matcha is a super hero amongst teas (more about that, here) and we LOVE how versatile it is. Here are some yummy, refreshing recipes from the book of matcha which we know we'll be making this summer!

Matcha lemonade

This is one of our favourite lunchtime drinks, and was created one hot summer’s day in Brooklyn, New York. With lots of lemon, agave and matcha, this is a wonderfully zesty and fresh tonic.

What you'll need...

Serves 1:

  • ½ tsp matcha powder squeeze of agave syrup juice of 1 freshly squeezed lemon
  • 200ml (7fl oz) sparkling water, or soda water if you prefer
  • Handful of ice cubes, to serve
  • 4 mint leaves, to serve

How to make it...

  1. In a jug, mix the matcha powder and agave syrup into a paste.
  2. Once dissolved, add the lemon juice and water.
  3. Whisk well, then pour into a tall glass filled with ice, and serve with some mint leaves - perfecto!

Matcha mint iced tea

This is a great green tea pick-me-up at the end of a long day. It’s refreshing, sparkly and simply delicious.

What you'll need...

Serves 1:

  • 200ml (7fl oz) sparkling or still water
  • ½ tsp matcha powder
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Handful of mint leaves
  • Squeeze of honey
  • Handful of ice cubes, to serve

How to make it...

  1. Put the water, matcha powder, lime, mint and honey into a blender (we love popping a splash of rum in there, too!) and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into a glass filled with ice and serve - cheers!
